You are in the right place to join the Australian heart community’s most exciting new lived experience training program – the Hearts4heart ADVOCACY Academy.

Launching in early 2027, be among the first to take this comprehensive learning and confidence building program, created especially for people with heart disease who want to become advocates for heart health.

Program Overview

Join the new Hearts4heart ADVOCACY Academy program

An online, self-led paced learning program that includes best practice advocacy knowledge and skills creation through content including:

What You'll Gain

  • Deepen your understanding of the health system, including Australian healthcare structures, policy processes, HTA and funding pathways.
  • Build research understanding and literacy and understand how lived experience shapes clinical trials and future healthcare priorities.
  • Explore real advocacy opportunities across media, campaigns, committees, consultations and community engagement.
  • Develop communication skills for speaking, writing and influencing across diverse audiences.
  • Structure your storytelling practice and learn how to use lived experience safely, ethically and effectively.
  • Enhance your wellbeing and sustainability through content on boundaries, emotional safety and self-care.
  • Create your personal advocacy plan to guide your future involvement.
  • Meet others and network in a safe learning environment – connect with your peers on our private moderated advocacy learning Facebook group.
  • Gain recognition as an Advocate graduate – receive a personalised certificate at program completion and join the Hearts4heart advocacy community.
